Quarantine Throwback: Bottlenose Dolphins vs. Beluga Whales
This is an article from July 8th, 2020. Enjoy!
Bottlenose dolphins look like miniature beluga whales. Although they look similar, they have many different characteristics. Bottlenose dolphins live in the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, and the Indian Ocean. Beluga whales live in the Arctic Ocean. Another difference is what they eat. Bottlenose dolphins eat fish, squid, and shrimp. Belugas eat fish, crustaceans, and worms.
They do have some things in common. They both use echolocation. Animals use echolocation by chirp sound and they hear the echo and find where they want to go. In addition, they both are threatened by pollution and human activity.
