It is possible to make a mud shelter with no tools. People today are still making these huts. To make a mud hut you need trees, mud, and grass. The only tool you need in a sharp rock for cutting down trees.

First you have to clear the place where you are going to build the hut. Next you have to get straight trees for the hut. You have to use a sharp rock or an axe to cut down the trees. With the wood you can make the walls and the roof. First you start the vertical posts. Pound the vertical sticks in the ground. You use vines as rope. Tie sticks together to make the roof. After that you get bundles of grass to cover the roof. You can tie the grass to the roof with the vines.

To build the walls you weave sticks around the posts. It is like making a basket. To keep the sticks in place you slap mud on the sticks. When the mud dries it becomes a strong wall. And you do the same thing to the floor to create a mud floor.
