Eternity: A Rom-Com of a Time-Separated Love Triangle in the Junction to the Afterlife

*This includes SPOILERS for Eternity (2025)*

I watched this movie on Thanksgiving Day (the release), and there were only two others in the theater. Even with so few people, this turned out to be my favorite release of the year.

I loved how even in the junction, everyone was still selling in their booths to advertize their afterlife. It really reflects our real capitalist world. What I don’t understand is why they're doing it. Is it their job to sell, or would the world be destroyed? It is a bit confusing to me, but I loved it.

Additionally, I loved the worldbuilding of the junction and overall, the whole premise. It felt like it had been done, but unique at the same time, and it felt fresh.

My choice, if I were Joan, would be Luke. I kind of have a classical view of romance. I believe in the sparks and the young love of the world. I think eternity is too long to spend with regrets as said in the movie. It was the best decision to first go with Luke, because who knows how that would be. Also, I was rooting for Luke because he is so classy and suave, and he kind of stole scenes.

More on this note, the competition aspects of the movie were so funny and intriguing because the two ACs stole the scenes with each two. I loved how they pep talked each of the husbands and came up with different strategies to win the competition. One of my favorite scenes was when Joan was saying that this was not a competition and everyone else was like, “This is a competition!” That was hilarious.

I'm not sure exactly what my eternity would be but it would be somewhere in Europe where I get the city life and the beauty of nature.

Make sure to see Eternity (if you haven’t yet, and past my spoiler warning :)D)
